HYPNOTHERAPY
The Health Education Authority has said, "Research shows that there is more scientific evidence for Hypnotherapy than any other Complementary Therapy ... by using hypnosis people can perform amazing feats of will-power and self-healing."
Hypnosis is the single most powerful psychotherapeutic tool for helping to improve depression and anxiety states. It can help with addictions, anger, blood pressure, blushing, lack of confidence, insomnia, IBS, migraines, nail-biting, nightmares, obsessions, pain control, panic attacks, phobias, skin disorders, stress, trauma flashbacks, weight management and many other issues.
Hypnosis is a normal and natural method of altering someone's state of consciousness. It is a very pleasant and relaxing experience, similar to deep concentration and a state we all naturally enter on a day to day basis. Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about therapeutic change.
Suggestion Therapy is a traditional treatment used to help with problems such as smoking, nail-biting etc. it makes use of the mind's heightened awareness and susceptibility to beneficial suggestions in order to make changes. This type of therapy generally takes one or two sessions. Anti-smoking takes just one appointment.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy uses practical, modern and well researched stratergies including the best of SFBT, CBT and NLP to help people make significant, positive changes in thier lives in a relatively short period of time. It is concerned with helping people achieve in life by awakening abilities that often are not aware they have. It is particularly helpful with confidence and self-esteem issues and is now recognised as one of the most successful interventions ( sometimes in conjunction with medication from the GP) in the treatment of depression and anxiety, panic attacks, IBS and other stress related issues. The average length of treatment varies but is generally under twelve sessions.
Minor phobias such as spiders, water, flying, public-speaking etc can be cured quickly, generally in three to four sessions. Painful memories and traumatic experiences can often be dealt with in the same way.
The use of CD's is an integral part of therapy. This continues to focus the mind, and provides solutions between sessions.
It is advisable, except where anti-smoking is concerned, to have a free consultation to discuss the issue and to help decide the appropriate method of treatment.
