Hypnotherapy



The form of Hypnotherapy I use is known as Solution Focused Brief Therapy and it is as it says brief and directed towards the mind finding solutions to our problems.
We use a combination of psychological techniques, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and NLP (Neuro-LinguisticProgramming)in combination with trance to bring about changes.

The word trance is often associated with people being made to lose control and do things that they are unaware of or don't want to do, but in actuality during hypnotic trance, everybody is totally aware of what is happening and are in control the whole time.
So, to help clear things up about Trance, here is a brief discription of what it is.
Trance, is a very normal, natural method of altering the state of consciousness to a state of deep relaxation and focus, similar to day dreaming or when we are just dropping off to sleep, thus, it is a natural state that we all experience in some form, daily, when we focus with deep concentration on a task or become deeply engrossed in something. During Trance, we are able to educate your subconscious as to what you need and where you want to go via the use of suggestion.
It is very relaxing and pleasant to experience.

Hypnotherapy is the single most powerful psychotherapeutic tool for breaking the negative states of anxiety and depression. It has also been proven a very effective method to help people to stop smoking. For the vast majority of people 'hypnosis really is the most effective way to quit'.

We teach you during your course of Hypnotherapy, how the mind works in relation to your condition or problems, and give your mind the tools via the natural state of trance to find and put into action solutions that will help you in a positive way to live your life the way you want to.

Throughout the process, you are fully aware and in control of everything that goes on and cannot, dispite what you hear or see on television, be made to do anything that you are uncomfortable with. Hypnotherapy is an enjoyable, relaxing and effective form of help that can be used very effectively on both adults and children for a wide range of conditions including depression, stress and anxiety, insomnia, all phobias, panic attacks, weight control, pain relief, migraines and IBS to name but a few.
